The Pure Feed Company
After graduating from University, Rob Lumb travelled the world working with horses. In the States he competed in both dressage and eventing, riding in clinics and demos with some of their top riders and trainers. On returning to the UK, he worked for an international dressage rider and trained her young horses. He successfully qualified them for National and Young Horse Championships.
Rob then worked for 10 years as Stable Manager for The Bechtolsheimers. As well as developing their youngsters he travelled to competitions with Dr. Bechtolsheimer’s top horses, including the late Giorgione with Rob at his last outing (pictured here). During this period, Rob spent time in Germany when The B’s took their horses over for training and competing. He made the most of this opportunity to train at their distinguished stables with some of the best trainers, including Rudolph Zeilinger and Klaus Balkenhol.
Rob then moved to work at Emile Faurie’s yard as Yard Manager. Again, he worked extensively with their young horses. He also consolidated his competition skills on these horses while he also took part in lecture demos, including one hosted by Conrad Schumacher.
From Emile’s yard, Rob then began his own venture. His aim is to build up top-class rides with young horses which are produced correctly. Rob has a loyal and expanding client-base that is successfully competing anywhere from novice to international standards, in both dressage and eventing. He also provides regular training in dressage for the UK U21’s.
Rob has undoubtedly got talent as a rider, trainer, and coach , and gets the best out of both horses and riders. Working out of a friendly and busy yard in South Glos, the coming year promises to hold some exciting times for Rob and his team, Pure Dressage. The impending arrival of some top youngsters and the support of owners and sponsors means that Pure Dressage is set for success!
