The Pure Feed Company
I'm feeding my 3 easily half of what I was last winter on their previous feed AND they're living out this time and they look simply amazing! Shiny coats, round bellies...just can't believe how much money I was wasting shovelling twice as much feed into them and still struggling to keep the weight on them! Would never feed anything else now!
I purchased Comanche Warrior in the poor state pictured in a bid to save him from going for meat as he had failed as a steeple chaser. He had been fed on a very high protein diet which caused him to be much too stressy, and as a result he coliced with his previous owners on several occasions. He was then just turned away to pasture on his own and at some points was accompanied by cows. He had been turned away for approximately two years before the owners decided that they couldn’t afford to keep him on and were offered a sum of money for him to be bought for meat. Luckily I saw a plea from someone on a social networking site urging his re homing before he was let go to the 'meat man'. I immediately contacted her and went to see him two days later and immediately fell in love with him. He came home with me two days later. I then had to face the fact that he was probably going to be tricky to feed, considering that he was obviously easily upset by certain feeding plans. I then came across The Pure Feed Company who were incredibly helpful with any question I needed to ask. 'Munch', as he is now called, was put onto Pure Condition and the after picture shown is him after just three weeks of being fed it. He is going amazingly well on the ground and in his re schooling and is showing great potential which I really do believe couldn’t have been done without Pure Condition. I have since been recommending it to everyone. :)
My little horse doesn’t normally get many treats so they will be special…here we are up on the South Downs (32K) this August…he lives off Pure Balance and fibre!

Rupert is my lovely Irish Cob and was doing really well enjoying fun rides, long hacks and generally having fun even though he has arthritis in all four legs until he was diagnosed with cushings disease three months ago. The vet said I had to change his diet because of the risk of laminitis as I was feeding him oats and barley in the winter because he was doing a lot of hard work, so I stopped giving him them to him and Rupert started to lose weight, had no energy and was just not himself at all. He had even stopped eating hard feed and just wanted to eat hay all the time, at this point I was getting really worried. My friend had arranged for Pure Feed to come and weigh the horses on the yard and give us some samples, we gave Rupert the sample of The Pure feed conditioning mix and he loved it , so we gave him another sample just to make sure and he ate that to. I took advantage of Pure feed 50% special offer and ordered some bags and Rupert is loving it, he has started to put on weight, he has more energy and he is back to his normal self, we have been on fun rides and long hacks and seems to be cheekier than ever…
Photo of Basil after 2 months on Pure Racing. Looking super shiny even when clipped! Cannot rate this product highly enough!
I cannot recommend this feed enough! I have been using it for over a year now and I have seen a massive difference in my horse - he used to be very highly strung and spooky in the arena but since moving him onto Pure Working feed he is much calmer, never spooks, has fantastic concentration but still has his power and energy - AMAZING! It also works out much cheaper than buying the usual mix and chaff - WINNER!
Flyer's been on Pure Balance to lose weight and was doing really well, but has recently been seriously ill, hospitalised for 9 days, didn't eat at all for first 6. He probably ingested poison, possibly magic mushrooms which caused severe colitis and serious damage to gut.
He was picking at the coarse mix (which included molasses) that the vet was using but the minute I walked into his box with a little bag of Pure Easy and he literally mugged me for it. It was the first time he'd shown any real interest in food, and marked the beginning of his recovery!
Today, I finally brought him home, and when I left him 10 minutes ago, he'd just polished of a helping of Easy with very evident relish - the whole yard could hear him chomping away!
Just a quick update on my 17hh 5 year old warmblood that was suffering with a lack of energy. He has been on Pure Feed Racing for 6 days now and the improvement in his energy levels is fantastic! Yesterday I took him on a 7 mile farm ride and he didn’t run out of energy or enthusiasm! He was still pulling like a train at the end of the ride and his turbo definitely kicked in when we had a gallop! Absolutely brilliant feed and he loves it! Doesn’t leave a single oat in his bucket! Will update you soon with photos :) Thank you so much!
My TB mare, Winnie, has been on the Pure Easy since I got her in May. She had an accident in the field so has been on box-rest and restricted work since mid June but on the Pure Easy, she still looks absolutely superb - the physio who came to treat her on Tuesday could not believe that this was a horse that had had surgery, been hospitalised and had the best part of 3 months off. Anyway, thought you'd like to know!
I just want to say how happy myself and Dower are with your feed! I was put in touch with you through Sandra from Intelligent Horsemanship and we have never looked back.
He has gone from being Mr Grumpy to Mr not so Grumpy and I have so many people commenting on how well he looks. He devours your feed of which he is on Pure Easy in the winter and Pure Working in the summer.
Robert was incredibly helpful in helping me source your feed of which I have been buying now for over a year and I am now delighted to see that its available online also!!
Hello, My horse got diagnosed with PSSM last year. I struggled for quite a while balancing everything that surrounds her condition alongside eventing her. I had tried lots of different feed and nothing seemed to work she always got too lean and if I fed her more she would tye up. I have been feeding her Pure Easy for a few months and I am so happy to say that she looks amazing and has more than enough energy to event and has not showed any muscle stiffness or tyed up. So this is a quick note to say thank-you and also to recommend your feed to owners of horses that suffer from PSSM.
Clare Reynolds and Starlight Sylvester triumphed at the BHS Trec Championships of Great Britain recently at Bryn Sion, Afonwen, Wales. First in the Level 3 Individual and also received the award for Best Condition in the opinion of the vets. Clare Said "I started to feed Pure Working earlier in the year and have seen a vast improvement in my horse's performance and condition. Thank you Pure Feeds!"
Thought I'd post this picture of one of my horses...he's 19yrs old (acts 3..always has!) and he's fed nothing but Pure Working and grass! Couldn't recommend your feeds enough!!
The picture on the left is K2 taken this time last year, before I started feeding your feeds and on the right is a picture of him now. I started feeding him Pure condition to start with then Pure Working about 4 months ago and was impressed from the start...he put on weight incredibly quickly and I had to cut down the amounts pretty quickly!! He is now fed just a small amount of Working and the Pure Balance to make sure he is getting everything he needs but I'm happy that in the winter I can up the feed and easily keep weight on him where I've struggled before. He also seems to have put on condition along his top line and looks a lot more 'uphill' than he did. The other improvement is his feet...he is barefoot and if you look closely at the pic of him now you can actually see the new growth on his feet which coincides with around the time I changed onto your feeds.
I also feed Pure to my other 2 horses and they are doing equally as well!
Thank you so much for providing a feed that suits the horse as a horse should be...I highly recommend your products to anyone!
Becky later commented...
"I know I'm always raving about how good your feeds are but I had my farrier come on Sat and as there's a definite change in the growth of all 3 of my horse's feet about halfway down the hoof, I asked him approximately how long ago he thought that started from..he said about 4 months..thats exactly when I changed them onto pure feeds!! He said the new growth is tighter and stronger and as they're barefoot that is gr8 news! He also said he has yet to see a horse not do well on Pure!! x"
I just wanted to let you know how fantastically both my horses are looking/behaving on the Pure Easy. My small youngster has done his first SJ show (just had the final fence in the jump off), and my big eventer who had ulcers in the past did a 29.5 dressage and jumped a double clear last weekend in the BE90 open at Mount Ballan to come second and yesterday did a 32 double clear to come second in the 1m at Aston le Walls! Everyone keeps commenting on how well they look, and especially on how great eventer’s coat is!

Had my horse on your Pure Condition for 3 weeks now!! Absolutely delighted with the feed, he loves it and has calmed down his silly behaviour and already put some weight on him...in fact I'm having to feed less than the recommended amount!! It's a lovely fresh looking feed and such a relief knowing he's not getting molasses smothered rubbish!! Thank you so much for making feeding so much easier than it has been...just wish I'd found you years ago!!
Your lovely food has been so successful that the time has come to order more, and this time there are extra people buying!
Hi Anna
I left a message for you a little earlier, but have now spoken to Robert and had my questions answered.
I wanted to say to you that I have been researching for a year or so to get the right diet for my native, I have rung two other organisations similar to yourselves and got either a sharp "feed this" or no response, so your detailed information has made all the difference to my confidence in your organisation and your feed. I am now going to put my New Forest 18m on the Pure Easy too and have ordered two bags. I will contact you again with any questions, but I did tell Robert how pleased I was with the ethos of the company and the reply you gave.
Thanks
Lesley Anderson
You were correct in your advice that horse would love this food! It’s the first time I have experienced 'head down, don't interrupt eat until it’s all gone' syndrome!
Just a quick one to let you know that you recommended I fed my yearling Pure easy light when I last spoke to you. Shes been on it for nearly a month now and is getting a lovely shine back to her coat and her temperment and attitude have calmed down a lot!! Thanks for the advice, I'd recommend it to anyone!
If you're a Pure Feed user, we'd love to hear from you! Please do let us know what you think of our feed and how your horse likes it. Please email your comments (and photos if possible, we love seeing pictures of our customers horses!) to info@thepurefeedcompany.com.
Thank you!
